Law Offices of Travis R. Brewer
Law Firm Experience
Travis Brewer has a vast
and broad law firm experience. Licensed since 1984, Mr. Brewer first
practiced for nine years with Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P., one of the
largest firms in the United States, in both their Washington, D.C. and
Houston, Texas offices. He then was head of the litigation section of
West, Webb, Albritton & Gentry for three years, and for six years
was lead trial counsel for Martin & Associates, a nonsubscription
specialty firm. His litigation background from 1984 to 1996 was
extremely broad, including cases in the areas of employment law,
medical and legal malpractice, insurance bad faith, construction, oil
and gas, securities fraud, toxic torts, real estate, as well as
personal injury. Since 1996, he has done almost exclusively personal
injury defense work, specializing in nonsubscription defense. Mr.
Brewer has also been very successful during his whole career in writing
and arguing appeals at both the state and federal levels. This broad
foundation of litigation experience has allowed Mr. Brewer to see
nonsubscriber cases clearly in their context as a subset of all the
different types of cases at the courthouse or in arbitration. Educational Experience Mr. Brewer’s educational
accomplishments are outstanding. He graduated from the University of
Texas at Austin in 1981 with honors and a degree in Mathematics, and in
1984 from the University of Texas School of Law with his law degree,
again graduating with honors, from the finest law school in the Southwest. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Texas Law Review from
1982-84, chosen for exceptional law school grades (top 3% of his
class), including three Am. Jur. (highest class grade) awards in
Contracts, Constitutional Law, and Legal Research and Writing. He also
was a writer on the Legal Research Board. While with Vinson &
Elkins, he took two intense trial-training courses, including a
prestigious three-week national NITA course in Boulder, Colorado.
During his nine years with Vinson & Elkins, Mr. Brewer was
privileged to learn trial work from some of the best trial lawyers in
the country. Travis Brewer is among the
most experienced trial lawyers in the state, and that experience has
been extremely successful. By 1995, Mr. Brewer had met the very high
standards of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and was board
certified in civil trial law, having tried at least twenty cases,
winning almost every case he tried. Since that time, he has tried more
than twenty additional jury trials, again winning almost every one. Mr.
Brewer’s practice is truly statewide across Texas. This successful
trial record has been won as lead counsel in jury trials in:
